Very Intense
"Cream Wax: I used a very small amount to my hair after it air dried to shape, smooth, and style into place. With even just a tiny bit, this product was way too intense, and I have very thick course hair, and lots of it. The product is very sticky and tuggy, so I had to apply by glazing over my hair’s surface and scrunching and molding it. It wouldn’t apply by running my fingers through, as they just got stuck immediately and it felt like I was going to pull my hair out. I ended up spraying a little leave-in conditioner onto my hands to cut and soften the product throughout the application in order to be able to distribute it through my hair. Once, styled, my hair looked waxy and producty, not natural. And there was NO way I was able to run my fingers through my hair throughout the day, making manipulation and restyling difficult and unpleasant. I can see this product being applied to a shorter style, like a messy quiff that needs texture and definition, thickness and volume, and moldability with tons of hold. Definitely more for a damp application than to dry hair. Way too sticky and tuggy to apply to dry. For my wavy flow, this was a no-go, though. Going to try SecondDay next as well as the Grooming Cream & Styling Cream to find a better product for dry application to achieve smooth, weighty control with flexibility and touchable re-workability with a more natural, day-2 quality.
